CHARACTER MASTERY IS LEVELING UP
A reward-track update for 57.x
You’ve put the work into your favorite characters, chasing Variants and Infinity Splits along the way.
Now, Character Mastery is getting a reward-track update in 57.x. New milestones bring Wild Boosters, Split Reroll Coins, an additional Custom Card Slot, and a new Level 27 reward. We’re also refining Mastery Cache rewards and removing several older Finishes and Flares from future caches and Split pools.
If you’ve already reached an affected milestone, you’ll receive the newly eligible track reward. More on exactly what that means below.
WHAT’S CHANGING IN 57.X
- Wild Boosters arrive at Mastery Level 8 and again at Level 12.
- A character-specific Reaction Set is available at Level 12. If no Reaction Set is available, that reward becomes increased Wild Boosters.
- Split Reroll Coins unlock at Level 17 and can be used during the Infinity Split Reroll flow for any character.
- An additional Custom Card Slot unlocks per character at Level 22.
- Level 27 grants an Unowned God Split, and Level 30 grants Gold Diamond Flare plus 50 Wild Boosters.
- Several older Finishes and Flares leave both future Mastery Cache rewards and Infinity Split pools.
THE UPDATED MASTERY REWARD TRACK
Mastery Caches award a random Finish or Flare from their available tier. By completing a character’s track, you’ll earn every available Mastery reward for that character.

WILD BOOSTERS AND UNOWNED GOD SPLITS
At Mastery Levels 8 and 12, you’ll earn Wild Boosters. Level 12 also includes a character-specific Reaction Set. If a Reaction Set reward is not available or is already owned, that reward becomes increased Wild Boosters.
At Level 27, you’ll receive an Unowned God Split: one Gold or Ink Finish paired with a colored Krackle combination that you do not already own. This reward is random. If you already own all 16 possible Gold/Ink plus colored Krackle combinations, you’ll receive 100 Wild Boosters instead.
RE-ROLL YOUR SPLITS
Every Infinity Split starts with one free re-roll. After that, you can use a Split Reroll Coin or Gold for later re-rolls. You can re-roll the Finish and Flare separately, with one additional re-roll available for each and up to three re-rolls total per split.
Split Reroll Coins are card-agnostic. Earn one through a character’s Mastery track, then use it during the re-roll flow for any character. Normally, later re-rolls use either Coins or Gold. If you spend your final Split Reroll Coin on the Finish or Flare, you can use Gold to re-roll the other outcome.
MORE CUSTOM CARD SPACE
At Mastery Level 22, each character earns an additional Custom Card Slot. That is another place to save your favorite look for that character, whether it is a go-to Variant, a favorite split, or a combination you want ready for your next deck.
FINISHES AND FLARES LEAVING CHARACTER MASTERY
The following cosmetics are being removed from future Character Mastery Cache rewards and from Infinity Split pools.
| Type | Removed From Future Mastery Rewards and Split Pools |
| Finishes | Banana Finish Rays Finishes Frosted Glass Finish Water Finish |
| Flares | Banana Flare Bubbles Flare Rainbow Confetti Flare Snowflakes Flare |
If you already own any of these cosmetics, they remain yours to equip through Custom Card. They simply will not appear as future Mastery Cache rewards or future Infinity Split outcomes.
THESE MASTERY CACHE REWARDS REMAIN AVAILABLE FOR FUTURE SPLITS
| Tier | Finishes | Flares |
| Tier 1 | Copper Metallic Foil Metallic Galactic Storm Psychedelic Steel Metallic |
Neon Trails |
| Tier 2 | Cosmic Gilded Prism Glass Circuits |
Blue Embers Galactic Storm Green Embers |
| Tier 3 | Black Prism Gold Prism Wakandan Glass |
Fire Embers Gold Wakandan Tech Purple Wakandan Tech |
TRACK REWARDS
57.x catches up eligible cosmetic rewards on individual Character Mastery tracks. It does not recalculate historical Variant, Currency or Infinity Split XP.
Your current Mastery level is the checkpoint. For example, if your Iron Man is already Mastery Level 23, any new, upgraded, or moved cosmetic track rewards at Levels 1-23 will be granted to Iron Man. Iron Man remains Mastery Level 23. The update does not add XP from prior Variants or Splits to move that card farther up the track.
Eligible rewards will be delivered through your Inbox and/or added to the appropriate card’s Infinity Split pool, depending on the reward.
- Finishes and Flares that were moved to earlier Character Mastery levels will go to your Split pool.
- Custom Card Slots and Unowned God Splits will go to your inbox.
Each player will also receive up to five Split Reroll Coins and 400 Wild Boosters in their initial inbox rewards message dependent on overall Mastery progression. As a Mastery bonus, each player will receive a separate Inbox message with an additional 400 Wild Boosters.
- Split Reroll Coins & Wild Boosters will go to your inbox.
MORE TO MASTER
When 57.x goes live, log in and check your Inbox: your eligible track rewards will be waiting, and every level you climb from there has something new attached to it.
And 57.x isn’t the last word on Character Mastery. We’ll be watching how these changes land, and a new Mastery reward is already planned for 58.x (don’t worry, the Gold Diamond Flare isn’t going anywhere). We’ll share those details in the next Patch Notes.
Until then, thanks everyone, and Happy Snapping!
GENERAL UPDATES
FEATURES
Earn Cubes in Limited Time Game Modes
Starting this season, you can earn a set amount of cubes toward Infinite from the free reward tracks of limited time game modes. Hyper Cube Rush boosted cube earn rates in Ranked, but it still asked you to prioritize Ranked over everything else. As we release new modes (we hope you loved Draft!) and remix existing ones, Ranked is just one part of each season’s story, and this gives you more control over how you progress.
How it works:
- Cubes come from the free reward tracks of limited time game modes only. Premium tracks don’t award cubes, and limited time matches don’t award cubes at the end the way Ranked does.
- Ranked is unchanged: you still earn cubes at the end of every Ranked match.
- These cubes count toward events like Hyper Cube Rush and Cube Sprint.
- They’re earnable up to a rank cap, starting at rank 90. Cubes collected before the cap can carry you past it; once you’re at or past the cap, each cube converts to 2 wild boosters instead. The cap preserves the historical connection between Ranked and hitting Infinite.
We’ll watch how this performs and listen to your feedback as we keep shaping the future of Ranked and seasonal progression in MARVEL SNAP.
GAMEPLAY
Draft Mode
Draft Mode is back on September 28, and this time the scoring has changed: matches use Sanctum Showdown-style scoring. We’ve also packed in a round of bug fixes, quality of life updates, and a few upgrades to Draft itself.
- Your variants, your Draft – Cards in Draft now show your favorite variant instead of default art. For now that’s art only; other cosmetics come later.
- Fewer “non-bos.” – Card and Augment pairings that don’t actually combo will stop showing up in Draft, so no more Power on skill cards, On Reveals on Cosmo, or Salvage on Armor.
- Four new Augments –
- Apex – Ongoing: If this is your only card here, double its Power.
- Unstoppable – Can be played anywhere. Can’t be destroyed or have its Power reduced.
- Taunt – On Reveal: Your opponent must play their first card at this location next turn.
- Slingshot – On Reveal: Give one of your other cards here +1 Power and move it to the right.
- Balance pass – We’ve adjusted the rarity of many cards and tuned some of the starter pack contents.
CARD UPDATES
- We’ve updated many cards to use the new ‘Start of Turn:’ keyword terminology used by Scarlet Witch, Queen of Chaos. No functionality has changed and these cards behave the exact same, so this change is just for cleanliness and consistency.
- Updated cards:
- Entropic Havok
- Jim Hammond Human Torch
- Kitty Pryde
- Mad Thinker
- Merlin
- Superior Spider-Man
- Viv Vision
- Ice Cube
- Team Clash Professor X
- Team Clash Wolverine
LOCATION UPDATES
- Text updates to Hala and Time Theater. Neither of these changes affect functionality and only serve to make their text shorter and more comprehensible.
- Hala
- [Old] After turn 4, destroy all cards controlled by the player losing here.
- [New] After turn 4, destroy all cards on the losing side here.
- Time Theater
- [Old] Copy the last card you drew instead of drawing your next card.
- [New] Instead of your next draw, copy the last card you drew.
- Hala
